Overview
A small-molecule pan-agonist of the three estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, ERRγ), developed by researchers at Saint Louis University. It is not a peptide and it is not an approved drug. Activates the ERR family of nuclear receptors, which regulate mitochondrial biogenesis and oxidative metabolism in muscle — the same transcriptional programme that endurance exercise engages, which is why the literature describes it as an “exercise mimetic”.

Described as research context — not a treatment claim.Exercise capacity, fat mass and metabolic markers in mouse models of diet-induced and genetic obesity, plus mitochondrial respiration in cultured myoblasts and cardiac function in a mouse heart-failure model.
Evidence & compliance note
ENTIRELY PRECLINICAL. As of August 2026 there is not a single registered human clinical trial of SLU-PP-332, and it is not in active regulatory development with any agency. Every result described above is from mice or cell culture; whether any of it translates to humans is an open question.
Preparation & storage
Lyophilized. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water per the general reference below.
General reconstitution & storage reference for lyophilized peptides:
- 1Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) rather than plain sterile water — the preservative meaningfully extends usable shelf life.
- 2In bacteriostatic water, refrigerate at 2–8°C, typically usable for ~28–30 days. In plain sterile water (no preservative): 7–14 days.
- 3Lyophilized (unmixed) vials are stable at refrigerated or, for some peptides, frozen temperatures for extended periods prior to reconstitution.
- 4Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, direct light/UV exposure, and heat — these are the primary drivers of peptide degradation.
- 5Reconstitute gently: inject the water down the inside wall of the vial and swirl — don't shake, which can denature the peptide structure.
Precautions
Side effects in humans are unknown, because no human study has been published. Absence of reported adverse effects here reflects absence of human data, not evidence of safety.
